The MayorWatch site reports Transport for London has begun prosecution proceedings against Virgin Media (one of its own major sponsors) for carrying out roadworks unsafely in Sutton last October.
Virgin Media has already received a £14,300 fine this year for "endangering the lives of residents and motorists" when work was carried out in breach of safety rules in Richmond.

The Ilford Recorder has an article on the findings of the London Assembly Liberal Democrats' report on incidents of children in care going missing - showing that 13 children went missing when placed by Redbridge Council in care outside the Borough.
Tom Rahilly, the NSPCC’s head of strategy and development, said:
“Going missing from care can present a significant risk to children.
“It’s often an important warning sign they are suffering serious harm or at imminent risk of doing so.
The Kilburn Times highlights the findings of a report commissioned by the London Assembly Liberal Democrats, showing that Brent has had more incidents of children in care going missing than any other borough in the last five years.
Caroline told the newspaper:
“A local authority looked after child who goes missing for 24 hours or more is at serious risk, including at risk of physical abuse.
“The widespread failure to keep some of the most vulnerable children in our society safe while they are in the legal care of a local authority is nothing short of a disgrace.”
Caroline Pidgeon, Lib Dem Leader on the London Assembly, has joined Kilburn and West Hampstead Lib Dems in their campaign for a safer Kilburn High Road for pedestrians and cyclists.
Kilburn High Road is one of the most dangerous streets in Camden. Shocking new statistics report there were 144 collisions on the High Road in the last three years. 45% (65) of these incidents involved pedestrians and cyclists, with 19 people killed or seriously injured.
Richmond Liberal Democrat councillors are pressing Transport for London to sort out the shambolic bus stop situation outside Richmond Station.
“The situation is ridiculous”, said Jerry Elloy, Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Transport.
“We have pressed the Council Officers to find out why the second bus stop has not been reinstated, and they blame Transport for London, citing internal disagreements between their London Buses Section, and the Public Carriageway Section which deals with taxis.
