After Transport for London announced a new Bus Safety Standard to be applied to new buses, Caroline Pidgeon stressed the need for faster action by TfL and bus operators to ensure all buses are safe for all Londoners.
“We welcome TfL’s announcement of a new Bus Safety Standard in a bid to make Londoners’ journeys on buses safer. However, these measures simply do not go far enough.
The Financial Conduct Authority has confirmed to Caroline Pidgeon it is reviewing the late announcement of the Crossrail delay, and the lack of transparency provided to the public and the financial markets, to decide whether to launch a formal investigation.
Caroline said:
“The Transport Committee identified grave discrepancies in the evidence gathered from meetings to determine who knew what, when, with regard to the launch of Crossrail.
Caroline talks about her work, both at City Hall, and also campaigning with Liberal Democrats in their communities all across London - and asks London Lib Dem members for their support in the London Assembly selection ballot.
Caroline was proud to join hundreds of thousands of people, including a great contingent of Lib Dems at Saturday's march for a People's Vote on the final Brexit deal.
Caroline is calling for the Mayor to go further in defending grassroots football clubs, such as Dulwich Hamlet FC.
Responding to the consultation on the Mayor’s draft Sport Strategy, Caroline highlights how grassroots clubs are often at the centre of local communities, yet often have to fight to retain their grounds against the threat of speculative developers. In recent years Edgware Town, Hendon and Enfield Town football clubs have all lost their historical homes.
