£10m lost in Crossrail ad revenue is a blow TfL cannot afford

Caroline's probing of the impact of the delay in opening Crossrail has revealed that TfL will lose £10m that it could have made from advertising inside Crossrail trains.

Caroline said:

"The £10m in lost commercial income due to the delayed opening of Crossrail is just the latest blow to TfL's finances.

"Any examination of TfL's accounts shows that it is clearly on the ropes. In its current state I wonder how many more financial blows it can now take."

A public health approach to tackling serious violence in London is long overdue

Caroline Pidgeon, Liberal Democrat London Assembly Member, commenting on the Mayor's announcement that he is starting a new Violence Reduction Unit of specialists in health, police and local government to deliver a public health approach to tackling the causes of violent crime, said:

What does London need from the Spending Review?

Caroline spoke at a London Councils event at Liberal Democrat conference on what London needs from the Treasury's spending review. Caroline stressed the funding pressure on London's public services, particularly Transport for London and the Metropolitan Police, and called for a better deal for London.

Windrush - a public inquiry is needed

Caroline spoke at Liberal Democrat Conference to support Pauline Pearce's motion on the government's mistreatment of the Windrush generation. Conference approved the motion which attacked "hostile environment" policy towards immigrants which Theresa May began as Home Secretary, and called for compensation for the victims, and a public inquiry into Home Office policy since 1997.
