Campaigning in the Hampton Wick by-election

Caroline Pidgeon AM was delighted to join her Assembly colleague Cllr Stephen Knight AM and other local Lib Dems out campaigning in Hampton Wick ward in Twickenham in the recent by-election.

The result took the previously safe Conservative ward and new Lib Dem Cllr Geraldine Locke was elected with 43% of the vote.

Sutton Garden Party

On Saturday 11th July Caroline joined lots of Sutton Liberal Democrat members at the annual Sutton Summer Garden Party.

It was a gorgeous sunny day and members heard from Baroness Susan Kramer and Lord Graham Tope about their work in the House of Lords and supporting our MPs.

Sutton Cycle Summit

Caroline Pidgeon AM was delighted to join Cllr Jill Whitehead and the Mayor of London's Cycling Ambassador Andrew Gilligan at Sutton Council's cycling summit on Thursday 23rd July.

Caroline spoke about the Council's draft strategy which has an ambitious target of 4% cycle modal share by 2025 from 1% currently. The strategy also plans to audit the current cycle network and to try to segregate cycle lanes where possible.

Caroline also talked about the work she has done to push the Mayor to spend more money in the Boroughs, especially outer London, to deliver a citywide cycling revolution.

Helping in the Wallington South By-election

Following the tragic death of Sutton Deputy Leader Cllr Colin Hall there was a by-election in Wallington South Ward with fantastic local candidate Steve Cook, just after the General Election. Caroline went to help Steve and the local Lib Dems many times in the campaign and was delighted that Cllr Steve Cook was elected to represent the area.
