Visiting the Crossrail scheme development
Caroline Pidgeon visited the Crossrail development at Paddingtion as part of a London Assembly Transport Committee site visit. Caroline witnessed a new station box being fitted out and walked down the tunnels in development to look at the progress. The engineering is very impressive and the scheme is currently on schedule.
Caroline Pidgeon joined local Lib Dem Richmond Councillor Piers Allen at Whitton Station. The step free access works here have been significantly delayed due to poor project management. The works ceased due to line closures as they could not get a crane in place to carry on the works.
Caroline Pidgeon joined the Lib Dem team in Willesden Green, including the local Lib Dem London Assembly candidate for Brent and Harrow Anton Georgiou, to promote the half price by half seven fares.
Caroline Pidgeon went out campaigning in Merton with local Lib Dem London Assembly candidate Adrian Hyyrylainen-Trett. They spent time knocking on doors with a petition for step-free access at Raynes Park, and then went on to Wimbledon to speak with local people about Crossrail 2.
Caroline Pidgeon AM joined Streatham Liberal Democrats and local Assembly candidate Michael Bukola out campaigning for Streatham to be included on the new Crossrail 2 underground line.
Caroline Pidgeon, Liberal Democrat Mayoral candidate, held a demo outside Turnham Green tube station with local councillors and residents to get TFL to upgrade the Piccadilly Line signal sooner. This would mean that tubes could stop there throughout the day (usually only the District line stops there).
On 8th February, Caroline visited British Cycling - the governing body for cycle racing - and spent time with Olympic cycling gold medallist Chris Boardman discussing cycling and how Liberal Democrats plan to make London a truly Cycling City.
