TfL start to show sense on Caledonian Road lifts but could do better

Caroline Pidgeon, the Liberal Democrat London Assembly transport spokesperson, commenting on the decision by Transport for London to review its work programme and to now delay the closure date of Caledonian Road tube station to the 14th March so as not to coincide with the closure of nearby Tufnell Park station, which is due to re-open on Monday 7th March. said:

Decision on Heathrow is needed now

Commenting on reports of a potential six month delay on a decision over Heathrow, Liberal Democrat London Mayoral candidate Caroline Pidgeon said:

"Londoners opposed to expansion are fed up of being lied to. A decision is needed now.

“Heathrow is not, and never will be, the place to expand airport capacity and the sooner this Tory government accepts that, the sooner we can get on with developing a sensible aviation policy for the UK."

West Ham's Olympic Stadium deal should be made fully public

As the London Assembly called unanimously for the terms of West Ham United's rental of the Olympic Stadium to be made public, Caroline Pidgeon commented:

“West Ham United Football Club knew full well that it would be subject to the Freedom of Information Act when it entered into an agreement with LLDC.

“No mayoral body should be hiding a deal over the use of a largely taxpayer-funded stadium.”
