Let's give London's carers a break

As National Carers Week began – in a year when carers in London and across the country have had a particularly tough time with the challenges presented by the pandemic – Lib Dem London Assembly Members Caroline Pidgeon and Hina Bokhari called for more Government support for carers, including the chance for them to have a break.

TfL needs a long-term funding deal, not continued delays

As the government and Mayor agreed a short-term funding deal for Transport for London, instead of a long-term solution, London Assembly Transport Committee Chair Caroline Pidgeon commented:

"The continued delays are not useful -recent passenger numbers are 40% of pre-pandemic levels on the Underground and 61% on the bus network. These levels will increase over time and Londoners need to know their transport needs will be met as demand grows.
