Huge work is needed to make London’s roads safe for cyclists
Caroline Pidgeon AM, Liberal Democrat London Assembly transport spokesperson, commenting on the publication today of 2013 figures measuring the number of cyclists killed and seriously injured in London, said:
“Of course this fall in serious injuries in 2013 compared to 2012 is welcome, but in reality these figures provide absolutely no grounds for complacency.
“It is absolutely clear that huge amount of further work is necessary to make London’s roads safer for all cyclists, whether young or old, male or female.
Caroline Pidgeon, Lib Dem Leader on the London Assembly, has joined Kilburn and West Hampstead Lib Dems in their campaign for a safer Kilburn High Road for pedestrians and cyclists.
Caroline joined the London HGV Taskforce on Wednesday 16th April to see first hand the work they do in making our streets safer for all road users including cyclists and pedestrians.
Liberal Democrat campaigners in Richmond have been successful in changing the pedestrian crossing timings at the Richmond Circus junction.
Residents and local Liberal Democrats have hit out at the controversial bus lane on Hartfield Road during a visit to the area by chair of the London Assembly Transport committee, Caroline Pidgeon.
