The Mayor needs to do some basic maths on electric car charging points

Caroline Pidgeon challenged the Mayor during Question Time on his plans to roll out a network of charging points for electric vehicles - and rated his plan for 300 charging points by 2020 as far too timid.

"If we expect companies with large fleets of cars and vans to go electric, they need the absolute certainty that there will always be easy access to rapid charging points in every part of London.

"The mayor needs to do some basic maths. Even when used back to back, a rapid charging point can only charge 48 vehicles every 24 hours.

Caroline Pidgeon welcomes the One Hour Bus Ticket

Caroline Pidgeon, Liberal Democrat London Assembly Member, commenting on the news that an unlimited number of trips within an hour will be allowed on a Hopper bus ticket starting from next year, said:

“For a decade I have campaigned for a 1-hour bus ticket so the introduction at long last of this policy is incredibly welcome.

“People who need to switch buses simply to get from one place to another should not be penalised. The 1-hour bus ticket is just what London needs.”

Caroline said:

“The London Overground is one of London’s success stories. Passengers numbers have soared from 33 million in 2008/09 to more than 189 million in 2016/17.
