Caroline Pidgeon AM, Liberal Democrat London Assembly Member, commenting on TfL's to help taxi drivers ditch the dirtiest diesel taxis, said:

“Today’s announcement is little more than a re-announcement of existing policies.

“Support to encourage taxi drivers to retire the most polluting diesel black cabs is obviously welcome. However for the policy to be a real success drivers must have the confidence that there will be no significant financial penalties for purchasing Zero Emission Capable taxis.

Caroline Pidgeon, Liberal Democrat London Assembly Member, commenting on the joint statement on Crossrail 2 from the Secretary of State for Transport, Chris Grayling MP, and the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said:

“We should be encouraged that the Mayor of London and the Secretary of State for London are at long last even talking together about how to take Crossrail 2 forward.

As the Mayor of London and Secretary of State for Transport met to discuss the progress of Crossrail 2, Caroline Pidgeon AM said:

“Overcrowding on the Underground is already a daily battle, with many passengers facing regular delays to simply get through barriers at stations.

“Unless Crossrail 2 is built these delays will increasingly build up until drastic measures are necessary at 17 key Tube stations, not to mention Clapham Junction railway station.

Caroline Pidgeon, Liberal Democrat London Assembly Member, commenting on the Mayor’s newly published Transport Strategy, said:

The electrification of the Barking to Gospel Oak Overground line has been delayed once again, and could now take until the end of 2017.

Caroline Pidgeon told the Evening Standard:

“Between TfL and NR something has gone seriously wrong with the electrification of the line.

"This has been increasingly clear for many months. Passengers were promised a year ago that the upgrade work would be finally completed by the end of June 2017.
