As the Rail Accidents Investigation Branch proceeds with its enquiry into the tram accident in Croydon last November which tragically killed seven people, particularly focusing on the glass used in the tram windows, Caroline Pidgeon has pointed out that its recommendations also need to be applied to buses - which have the same type of windows.
Caroline said:
The failure of the Metropolitan Police Service to provide adequate healthcare provision within police custody suites has seen a dramatic increase in ambulances being called out to police stations in every part of London.
Commenting on the figures released in response to a written Mayoral Question, Caroline Pidgeon, Liberal Democrat London Assembly Member, said:
Caroline Pidgeon is continuing to raise the issue of excessive lift closures in West Ham, East Ham and Canning Town tube stations - particularly East Ham, where the lifts closed nearly 200 times in 2016.
Caroline said:
“When tube lifts stop operating with no prior notice, the station is in effect closed for disabled people, parents with buggies and everyone else who relies on the operation of lifts.”
Caroline Pidgeon, Liberal Democrat London Assembly Member, commenting on Dame Margaret Hodge's highly critical report on the Garden Bridge, said:
“This is a totally damning report. It is a disgrace that key decisions on the Garden Bridge were driven by electoral cycles rather than any concern for value for money. The report also backs up the long standing finding of the London Assembly that the procurement processes were not open, fair or competitive.
Caroline Pidgeon, Liberal Democrat London Assembly Member, commenting on the Mayor's announcement that a partnership has been reached with the housing association L&Q to potentially deliver 20,000 new homes across the capital, said:
“This announcement is good news if it really does end up delivering 12,000 homes which are genuinely affordable.
“However, let’s not pretend that today’s announcement stands in isolation.
