Caroline Pidgeon has criticised plans to leave West Brompton, Highbury and Islington, Blackhorse Road and Canada Water Overground stations unstaffed during the day.

Caroline said:

“Having staff present at every London Overground station, from the first to last train, is central to its high level of service and success.

“The policy ensures the stations are safe and accessible for everyone, including disabled people who can use a ‘turn up and go’ service.

As the Mayor reiterated his support for the building of the Garden Bridge, Caroline Pidgeon highlighted the taxpayers' money that is still being sucked into the project.

Caroline told the London SE1 website:

"Sadiq Khan’s position on the Garden Bridge is illogical and indefensible.

"He claims to be committed to not providing any further public funding for the Garden Bridge yet at the same time he is allowing TfL to hand over another £10 million of public money.

Caroline Pidgeon, Liberal Democrat Londonwide Assembly Member, commenting on the appointment of Cressida Dick as the next Commissioner for the Metropolitan Police Service and the Met’s very first woman Commissioner, said:

“The Metropolitan Police was founded by Robert Peel who declared 188 years ago that the police are the public and the public are the police. Today it feels as if that principle is finally being put into practice with the capital at long last having a woman Commissioner.

As Transport for London announced that the London Overground line between Gospel Oak and Barking will now reopen to passengers on Monday 27 February, but that the installation of all of the overhead wires has not been completed on time and more work is required, Caroline Pidgeon, Liberal Democrat London Assembly Member, criticised the way the work has been executed and communicated:

“The fault for these delays rests with some appalling errors made by Network Rail, who have many questions to now answer.
