On Tuesday 20th January, Caroline Pidgeon AM joined Cllr Flick Rea, Lib Dem Councillor for Fortune Green Ward and officials from Transport for London's Overground team to look at the plans to rebuild West Hampstead Overground station.

Whilst on the site visit, Caroline was nearly knocked over by a reversing lorry at the neighbouring building site which did not have any audible sound! This was quickly reported to the site and "Considerate Contractors".

Improving London’s environment for everyone, building more homes and making fares much fairer are at the centre of a radical set of proposals put forward by the Liberal Democrat London Assembly Group in their amendment to the Mayor’s budget.

Caroline Pidgeon AM, Leader of the Liberal Democrat London Assembly Group, has welcomed the commitment by TfL to review the potential provision of Visitor Information Centres at both London Bridge and Waterloo underground stations.

Following the closure of all tickets offices at all London Underground stations the provision of new Visitor Information Centres is planned for just a few locations across London, such as Victoria, King’s Cross St Pancras and Paddington.

Caroline Pidgeon AM, Leader of the Liberal Democrat London Assembly Group, has received specific assurances from Transport for London, that they will start to make improvements to the zebra crossing on Brownhill Road, which saw a fatal collision last summer.

Transport for London have also pledged to review a separate junction (the junction of Brownhill Road and Torridon Road) where despite there being traffic lights for vehicles there are no pedestrian crossings to help people cross the busy South Circular.

Caroline Pidgeon has congratulated Twickenham MP’s Vince Cable, Liberal Democrat ward councillors and local residents for ensuring that Transport for London have abandoned their plans to remove a footbridge over the A316 Chertsey Road.

When TfL’s plans were first announced last June they met with huge outrage.

However, after an extensive local campaign and a massive response from local residents to the TfL consultation, it has been decided to keep the bridge for at least two years.
