Go ahead for Cycle Superhighways will lead to a step change in cycling
Caroline Pidgeon AM, Leader of the Liberal Democrat London Group, commenting on the decision by Transport for London’s Board to support the proposed Cycle Superhighways, said:
I very much welcome the Board seeing sense and supporting safe cycling infrastructure in London.
We need to move into the 21st century and embrace the fact that more and more people are cycling.
I am certain that in a few years’ time we will look back in amazement at the fuss that has been created over the Cycle Superhighways.
On Tuesday 20th January, Caroline Pidgeon AM joined Cllr Flick Rea, Lib Dem Councillor for Fortune Green Ward and officials from Transport for London's Overground team to look at the plans to rebuild West Hampstead Overground station.
Caroline Pidgeon AM, Leader of the Liberal Democrat London Assembly Group, has received specific assurances from Transport for London, that they will start to make improvements to the zebra crossing on Brownhill Road, which saw a fatal collision last summer.
Caroline Pidgeon AM hosted a recent meeting with Lib Dem Roding Ward councillors Gwyneth Deakins and Ian Bond and representatives of Transport for London (TfL) to discuss the plan to run the Central Line through the night on Fridays and Saturdays, from September 2015.
Caroline Pidgeon AM joined Carshalton and Wallington Lib Dem MP Tom Brake to visit London Bridge Station in December to see the redevelopment plans for the station. London Bridge Station is being completely rebuilt as part of the £6.5bn government-sponsored Thameslink Programme.
Last July saw a 13 year-old schoolgirl killed on Brownhill Road, which is part of the South Circular that runs through Catford.
